Advisement

Academic Advisors

Once admitted to the EMSON, academic advisors are assigned to students in the nursing program. Lists of advisor assignments are available in the school's office, distributed by electronic mail and available on ISIS. Students are encouraged to meet with their advisor at least once a semester. Students are encouraged to keep their advisors informed about progress, or lack of progress, in their course of study. The following are times when students should meet with their advisor:

• To discuss any problems affecting academic performance. Most academic problems can be corrected with early intervention.
• Prior to registration each semester.
• To add or drop courses or to go from full-time to part-time status.
• To discuss career considerations.
