Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.)

Students planning to apply to the nursing school must first be admitted to the university and meet the requirements for the College of Education and Health Professions. Admission to the program is limited and requires a separate application, due Dec. 1 for fall admission and June 1 for spring admission. The professional program of study begins in the fall or spring semester following the sophomore year and usually takes two years to complete.
Nursing requires strong emotional, intellectual and physical capabilities. Students who are admitted to the program are expected to possess the following abilities and skills:
Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.)
Requirements for admission to the master of science in nursing program include admission to the University of Arkansas Graduate School, completion of a baccalaureate in nursing from an NLNAC or CCNE accredited program and current licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Arkansas. Qualified applicants will be admitted on a space available basis.
The MSN program prepares students as clinical nurse specialists who are eligible to take national certification exams and apply for licensure as advanced practice nurses. Upon completion of the program of studies, the graduate will be able to:
