Nursing is a magnificent rewarding profession, one that offers a lifetime of career opportunities and satisfaction. I hope you select the Mann School of Nursing as a vehicle to achieve your learning and profession goals.
The academic programs, faculty and students have changed over time; however, the school's quality and reputation have remained solid and focused. One indicator of quality is accreditation of the school’s degree program by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. The faculty are highly competent practitioners, well educated and progressive, and many are vested in research inquiries and scholarship. Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Pi Theta Chapter provides abundant scholarly and professional development for students and faculty.
Nursing education programs at the Fayetteville campus programs began more than 30 years ago with initiation of the associate degree program. To meet society’s needs for a more highly educated nurse, the faculty developed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in 1992. The BSN achieved its goal of enrollment growth by admitting twice a year. Another milestone achievement will be the charter Master of Science in Nursing class graduating in spring 2007. The program prepares clinical nurse specialists for adults with medical-surgical health problems. A nursing educator option is available for those interested in teaching.
